“ The Quays are by far our favorite Irish restaurant in Dublin Temple Bar area. The portion is generous for the price you pay for the food. We came mid-week before 5pm and they have special €29 for starter plus entree. We got the chowder with fish & chips, chowder with Banger mash for the special price, and also ordered their famous lamb shank. Their seafood chowder is flavorful and ery tasty, unlike the chowder in US that is full of white heavy cream. Fish & chips are large and the batter is crusty and crispy, not heavily breaded like other restaurants. The lamb shank melts in your mouth and the gravy is very flavorful, goes well with the mashed potato. This is definitely a must visit restaurant in Dublin as soon as you get here and we love The Quays better than the other popular Irish restaurant that is just a few doors down and more expensive but still feel hungry after eating. The decor for the Quays restaurant is very cool, and you can really feel they have been around. All the staff are very friendly and attentive, frequently checks on us throughout our meal. We were so full after our meal and we didn't get to try their desserts which looked so delicious. We will definitely try it when we visit again ”
“ This was my first time trying Irish food, and it left such a great impression! The people were incredibly kind and welcoming, and the food was delicious and high-quality. The place had a lovely atmosphere, and the overall experience was just heartwarming. ”
“ Ok.. So Quays has 2 sections. Bar downstairs with live music and drinks. That place is popping. We went twice while in Dublin. Love it! Upstairs The restaurant The wait can be crazy.. go early or risk waiting 20 mins or more. The food is tasty .. it's ok .. Bread & butter pudding was great though. Servers are nice but being so busy it's easy to feel like they want u out as fast as possible though it's tastefully done. ”
“ Walking around Dublin trying to figure out a dinner spot and stumbled across The Quays Restaurant. The place was packed!!! Even trying to wait at the bar was chaotic! We managed to grab a drink while we wait for our table. While in Dublin we wanted to try some local delicacies. Fish & Chips of course! Warm Goats Cheese & Walnut Salad, Pan Fried Bangers & Mash, and as if we weren't stuffed enough ... Home-made Bread & Butter Pudding. Good size portions. If you can deal with the wait ... I'd say stick it out. The food was worth it. ”
“ We had low expectations for a location in the Temple Bar area honestly expecting more of a tourist trap (like temple bar), but we had a great experience with great service and food we enjoyed. There was a wait of about 20 minutes. Understandable given the time of day and how busy it was in the area. Our server was professional and friendly. Had no problems making what felt like honest recommendations. The location is definitely tightly spaced for seating. Don’t expect a spot where you will be isolated or have much space to your self. In fact, we were seated on a 6 top with another random couple at the other end of the table which we were initially confused by. We had the cottage pie and fish and chips. An appetizer was garlic toasted bread with cheese which was good. My fish was lightly battered and tasted good. Fries as a side were plentiful. Most fries I think I’ve ever been served as a side, anywhere. The side of mushy peas was an extra €2, and not as good as the Old Spot earlier in our stay. Our soft drink orders were tiny. 200mL bottles (about 6.7oz) and €4 a piece. The cottage pie was very good. The beef had great flavor and mashed potatoes were good. For dessert, we had a bread and butter pudding. This was tasty as well. It is served hot with a thick whipped cream topping. Not a ton of flavor compared to other bread pudding-like desserts I’ve had in the past but it was good. We tried some baileys ice cream as well. It was tasty, but I don’t enjoy lots of ice cream as a dessert so, don’t let me sway you on my ice cream review. Overall would recommend for a good Irish meal in the heart of Temple bar area. Don’t forget to tip while in Ireland! ”
“ Absolutely love this restaurant. It has a downstairs bar, a door to the right will lead you to an intimate restaurant upstairs. Great decor celebrating the history of the local area. Expansive menu with plenty of traditional dishes, I had the Irish Stew which was devine. There were plenty of tempting starters and deserts too. I will eat here when in Dublin again! ”
“ Great food. Lovely waitress, the girl with the pink hair. Everyone was really nice and the food was awesome. My husband had the lamb shank and i had the fish and chips. Absolutely incredible. Seats were not great. We were next to some kind of plasticky wall, next to the kitchen. There seemed to be air-conditioning but they didn't do anything. That wing was way too hot, hotter than outside. Hot enough that a warning or so would be in place until the issue is sorted out. All and all it was good, cause really good food. But due to the heat we weren't staying longer than we needed too. ”
“ Looking for a good dinner place we found it! The Irish food served in this restaurant is authentic and the best so far, is not easy to please me this far. We ordered the cottage pie €16, the Slow cook beef with red wine and Guinness €16, with mashed potatoes, the traditional Guinness beer to wash it down and for dessert the bread pudding. Everything was delicious and a good size serving. Our server was funny, friendly and attentive, asked us a few times how was the food and the service, on my opinion was fair and a great experience. Very recommended. ”
